Wojciech Smarzowski’s film Home Sweet Home received the 2026 Eagle Award for Best Film of the Year, along with four additional awards during yesterday’s 28th Polish Film Awards ceremony held in Warsaw. Two Eagle Awards were also presented to Maciej J. Drygas’s documentary Trains.
Home Sweet Home, represented internationally by IKH Pictures Promotion, won a total of five Eagles – the most prestigious Polish film awards, often compared to the American Oscars or the French Césars. In addition to the Best Film of the Year award, the filmmakers and cast received distinctions in the following categories:
- Best Director: Wojciech Smarzowski
- Best Actress in a Leading Role: Agata Turkot
- Best Actor in a Leading Role: Tomasz Schuchardt
- Best Music: Mikołaj Trzaska
The film received a total of 13 nominations across 12 categories.
Meanwhile, the documentary Trains, whose international promotion is coordinated by IKH Pictures Promotion, won awards in the following categories:
- Best Documentary Film
- Best Editing: Rafał Listopad
