MINGHUN

MINGHUN

Fiction, 91′

Directed by: Jan P. Matuszyński
Production: Poland, 2024

Jurek, along with his father-in-law Ben, confronts the loss of a loved one and decides to perform the Chinese ritual of minghun – a post-mortem wedding. The two set out on an emotional journey deep into themselves with the aim of finding a perfect partner for the deceased to spend eternity with. The clash of the two very distinct cultures is there to help make both the protagonists and the viewers aware of the fact that regardless of our origin, we all belong to one human family where basic emotions are shared. A story about hope, love and searching for the meaning of life and what happens after it comes to an end.
