On the thirtieth anniversary of Krzysztof Kieślowski’s passing, the Quay Brothers are creating a unique short documentary dedicated to one of Poland’s most influential filmmakers. Postscriptum. Ruminations on My Craft will take the form of a cinematic essay, where archival materials, personal recollections, and excerpts from Kieślowski’s films intertwine with the Quays’ signature, auteur animation. The film is produced by IKH Pictures Production.
The project is being made in co‑production with the Polish Cultural Institute in London, the Adam Mickiewicz Institute, Wroclaw Feature Film Studio, Documentary and Feature Film Studios, Konnick Studio, and the In Situ Contemporary Art Foundation. It is co-financed by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland.
The premiere of Postscriptum. Ruminations on My Craft is planned for late August 2026. In parallel, arrangements are underway with festivals interested in including the film in their programmes. The date and location of the world premiere will be announced soon.
