IKH Pictures Promotion has joined the crew of the feature-length documentary Trains by Maciej J. Drygas and will be responsible for the film’s international promotion and distrubition at festivals.

Trains is a documentary fresco crafted entirely from archival footage and sound design paints a collective portrait of the 20th century, capturing the hopes, desires, dramas, and tragedies that defined the era.

The film had its World Premiere at the IDFA Festival in Amsterdam in November 2024, where it was recognized as the Best Film in the International Competition, and Rafał Listopad received the Award for Best Editing. Since then, Trains has been presented at several international film festivals around the world.

Maciej J. Drygas is a renowned film and radio director, screenwriter, producer, and professor at the Polish National Film School in Łódź. His works have received numerous prestigious awards, including the European Film Academy Award for Best Documentary for Hear My Cry (1991), the Prix Italia for the radio documentary Last Will (1992), the Grand Prix at the Monte Carlo International Television Festival for State of Weightlessness (1995), and the award for Best Feature-Length Documentary at the Cinema Verité festival in Tehran for Abu Haraz (2013). He is the originator and founder of the Home Movie Archive at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Warsaw.

IKH Pictures Promotion will coordinate the international promotion of the film. It will also be responsible for festival distribution. The producer of Trains is Vita Żelakeviciute (Drygas Film Production), co-producers – Rasa Miskinyte (from the Lithuanian company Era Film), Tomasz Rychter (TVP S.A.) and Andrzej Łucjanek & Łukasz Ceranka (FIXA FILM). The film was produced in collaboration with the Eye Film Museum Amsterdam and with the support of the PKP Group Foundation.
